Rescue Me ID: 18-05-23-00193Toto (male)

Cairn Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Welcome Toto. He is a Cairn Terrier mix. He weighs about 12 pounds and is 6 years old. He is a lower shedder and does great with other dogs. He lives in a home with cats and would be best in a quieter home. One with an older couple or single person would be best. He is fine once he knows you are ok and slower movements are best. Maybe some struck him. I can say he is very nice and will make a wonderful companion. He is up on all shots, neutered and ready for his forever home. He is healthy and can be adopted locally in Texas or transported to the East or the West Coast. His adoption fee is 185 and transport is 185. Contact ... Rescue Me ID: 18-05-01-00142Friday (female)

Cairn Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Everyone LOVES Friday, right? So, of course, you are going to love me! K-9 Angels saved me and my six puppies! They took excellent care of me, and ... (Read More)although I need to still gain a little weight, I am doing SO much better! I love my foster siblings--we get along great--I'm the new kid on the block so I go along well with the othe rs. I treasure toys and will carry them around with me. I use the doggy door and love the backyard AS LONG AS YOU are there! I don't want to be without my pack, my people, my family! Could that be you? I'm ALMOST potty trained. If you will just go outside with me every time, I won't have a problem. I just don't want to be without you so I forget to take care of business sometimes. Now, don't misunderstand, I am not underfoot. I just lay down in the same room you are in, and if you leave the room, I follow you. I follow you wherever you go. I like walks and don't have a problem meeting new dogs as long as they aren't aggressive to me. I only bark when I am playing with my foster siblings. I'm very happy watching TV with you and leaning on you and sleeping in bed with you. Once I am settled, I am done for the night. I am kennel trained (HINT: You can teach me anything with a treat!) I don't go in my kennel except when my people leave. Why? Because I want to be with you! If I'm not with you I will look very hard to find a way out. So, you may come home and find me sitting in the front yard waiting for you. I know, I know, that's not very safe for a gorgeous girl like me. I think that when I KNOW you are coming back and there are no more foster homes, and no more street life, I won't be afraid that I will never see you again. It's been a journey getting to the good life and I want to keep it! Seriously, I am just about perfect in every way. And, I'm only 2 years old so there is ALOT of life in me without all those horrible puppy habits like house training, and chewing, and worms! I'm THE BEST FRIDAY you're gonna have in a long time if you take me home. Please come meet me! Female Terrier mix that we estimate to be around 2 years old and 20lb PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_adoption_process.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. I've been having a rough go at it lately, but I can already tell that things are looking up! My ... (Read More)foster mom took me to get my teeth cleaned and to get groomed. I feel like a whole new pup! I may be an older dog but boy do i still have a lot of love to give. I never leave my foster mom's side if I can help it and I love to just rest my head on her lap. She tells me I'm a good boy all the time and it's really helped with my self-confidence. My foster mom is also really proud of me because I'm completely potty trained and haven't had a single accident in the house. I will need a special home to accommodate my vision loss. It definitely stinks that I can't really see very well but I try really hard to not let it affect my quality of life. I still love to go exploring outside and go on walks. I promise I will try really hard to be a loving member of your family. Vancamp is a Male Scottie / Cairn Terrier mix that we estimate to be born around 5/1/2008 and weighs 17 lbs. My name is Nonna and I guess you could say I'm a little shy. Foster mom says I need to tell you about myself, so I'm going to try and be brave. ... (Read More)I'm a female Welsh Terrier mix that's about 3 years old. I love the simple things in life...hanging out with my people, belly rubs, and long naps. Because I'm not a puppy, you don 't have to worry about me doing silly things like chewing on your shoes or going to the bathroom inside the house. I will also be polite to your guests and not jump all over them or you. Right now I'm in a house with a bunch of other dogs and we all get along great. I'm polite with food and with space and do my best to keep my manners. Just like with introverted people, I can be a little slow to warm up. Foster mom says it's okay for me to be who I am, so I'm sticking with it! Not all dogs are jumping, in your face, over the top extroverts that need all the attention in the room. The Adoption Center can be a little overwhelming for me and people might get the wrong idea there that I'm scared all the time and not friendly. But once you get to know me, you'll see what a warm, friendly, quiet, calm, and practically perfect dog I really am! Come see me at the Adoption Center this weekend! I can't wait to meet you. (Read More)EXAM at Banfield - GROOMING COUPONS - over $400 of coupons/savings - and MUCH MORE! We have a two-step adoption process. First, you submit an application, which is presented to our Board for approval or rejection. If approved, a home check is done, and if that passes - you adopt which includes a 1-week trial period, if - for any reason during that first week, the adoption is not working out, you can return the dog for a full refund of your adoption fee. )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))WE NEED FOSTER HOMES FOR ANIMALS! Fosters are the backbone of animal rescue. In most EVERY shelter - in most EVERY county - in most EVERY city - animals are being euthanized (KILLED) daily due to overcrowding - dog - cat - large - small - male - female - puppy - kitten - old - young. We cannot save them without foster homes. APPROXIMATELY ONE OUT OF THREE ANIMALS THAT ENTER A SHELTER IS EUTHANIZED. These healthy sweet pets would have made great companions. Don't know what fostering is? Briefly - it is babysitting an animal until he/she is adopted. FOSTERING IS FREE TO DO! Most rescues cover all expenses for fosters, and anything they do not cover is tax-deductible. If you cannot foster - please ask your friends and family to. If you want more information - Google 'animal fostering.' I'm begging - it's only temporary but lives can't be saved unless people step up - PLEASE - shelters are overflowing - when you foster one animal - you save two lives - the one you foster and the one that gets his/her space in the shelter. If you can/will foster - let me know, I thank you - and the animals thank you! PS - Have you ever dreamed of helping a rescue but don't have the time, space, or just plain don't know what to do? At your pet limit? Allergic? Can't have pets where you live? Well - how about becoming a VIRTUAL FOSTER... You can choose a minimum amount of $10 a month to 'virtually' foster a homeless animal of your choice (of course, a larger sum would be happily accepted and appreciated). What does Virtual Foster mean? Our foster fur babies typically have many veterinary bills, as this is the nature of being rescued. There are also other expenses related to the ongoing care and rehab of fosters. As a Virtual Foster, your donation will go towards the vetting - medical care, and general care of the animal you have chosen. Your donation will go a LONG way in ensuring a foster dog receives the needed care and attention! In return for your kind tax-deductible donation, you will receive a periodic update on the progress of your foster. Once your foster is adopted, you will be notified so that you can choose another animal to virtually foster. If you genuinely cannot adopt or foster, there are still other ways to help. Sponsor an adoption or medical treatment. Volunteer your time - drive for transports, rescue groups always need dogs transported from one place to the next. Donate money, our rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. Educate - spread the word about the need for fosters. Sign up for notifications from your local rescue group or shelter, and share the animals in need on social media, there are so many ways to help - thank you (Less)

Hi my name is Zachariah and I'm Cairn and terrier mix. I'm approximately 2 to 3 years old and I'm about 15 lb . My foster mom is working on my potty training and my crate training . I sleep with her at night and I love to snuggle with her and my other fur Friends. I love to play with all the other dogs big and small. I'm have a ton of energy. I'm a little shy at first and just need somebody with a little patience. Just move slowly with a loving caring patient hand and I can show you I'm full of love! I haven't been around cats or kids I'm sure older kids would be fine. I may be okay with little kids but a lot of activity makes me ... (Read More)nervous. I have heartworms but Apollo's is treating me with the slow treatment but it doesn't Slow Me Down. I haven't been on a leash yet but I do love to go play out in the backyard. I also like to play with you and show you how silly I can be LOL I'm looking for my forever home and family. I pray you would be the one to open your heart and your home and give me a place to call my own. Could you be the one to love me unconditionally? (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-09-15-00262Goodie (female)

Cairn Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Goodie has special needs and will require a very special adopter. Goodie is a quirky little chihuahua/terrier mix who hasn't had an easy life. She spent much of her life either neglected in someone's yard alone or living on the streets. She's getting spoiled in her foster home though and she's starting to like this whole new pamp ered life! Goodie is well behaved and quiet for the most part. She follows her foster mom and dad around the house and occupies herself with her toys. She gets excited for morning and afternoon sunbathing sessions in the yard. She lives with several other doggies, both big and small, and even a kittie. She enjoys ... (Read More)a good snuggle with any of them, and gets along with all of her fur friends. Goodie has some serious health issues that will require on-going care for the remainder of her life. She is high heartworm positive and the damage is so extensive that she's starting to show some signs of heart failure. Goodie also has a heart murmur and suffers from what we think at this point are epileptic seizures. We've been working with the vet to regulate her medications to help manage her heart and to also prevent her seizures, but Goodie will likely need to receive several medications everyday for the rest of her life. We estimate Goodie to be about 8 years old. She has her issues, but more than anything she has lots of love to give. If you think you can provide this amazing, sweet and spunky girl her very special forever home, submit your application today! PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)
