Rescue Me ID: 17-11-20-00165Robertson (male)

Cairn Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi, I'm Robertson. That's not my original name, but my 'original' humans didn't care enough about me to make sure I was clean or flea free. The good news is ... (Read More)that some wonderful ladies from K-9 Angels could tell how sweet I am and have given me a chance to find a new family that will love me forever. I've only been w my foster mom for a minute, but I can already tell you I like this living inside and having a soft bed to sleep on. I'm pretty shy and nervous now but I am an easy going guy that would love a family of my own. I mean, look at the shirt my foster mom is making me wear. It didn't bother me at all when she put it on me. Truthfully I appreciated it because I could tell that she cares about me. Robertson is a male Cairn Terrier mix that we estimate to be born around 1/1/2016 and weighs 12 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_adoption_process.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-16-00343Todd (male)

Cairn Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Believe it or not, this sweet boy was dumped along the streets of Lytle. After sitting in the same spot for 4 days, a Good Samaritan who worked nearby, was able to get Todd to come to him. He took him home, gave him some loving, and brought him to SNIPSA. Even with his broken spirit, we could see Todd had so much love to give. He stole our hearts right away and rightly so as Todd is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet! Todd is a little shy at first, and given his circumstance, that can be understandable. Once he knows you're here to give him love and hugs, he will be by your side forevermore%BD%BD%BD%A0 and is the perfect snuggle buddy ... (Read More)for those rainy day movie marathons. With his soft scruffy coat, we wouldn't be surprised if you ended up resting your head on Todd until you both fell asleep. And with his sweet temperament, he wouldn't mind it at all! Todd gets along fine with other dogs as well as cats. He would prefer a home without young children as sudden movements can make him a little nervous. He is the perfect pup partner to stroll through the neighborhood with and would love to join you on your family vacations as he rides well in a car and this loyal boy will stick by your side as long as you return the love he gives you! Want to be the best part of Todd's rescue story? Fill out an application today at www.snipsa.org! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-09-15-00262Goodie (female)

Cairn Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Goodie has special needs and will require a very special adopter. Goodie is a quirky little chihuahua/terrier mix who hasn't had an easy life. She spent much of her life either neglected in someone's yard alone or living on the streets. She's getting spoiled in her foster home though and she's starting to like this whole new pamp ered life! Goodie is well behaved and quiet for the most part. She follows her foster mom and dad around the house and occupies herself with her toys. She gets excited for morning and afternoon sunbathing sessions in the yard. She lives with several other doggies, both big and small, and even a kittie. She enjoys ... (Read More)a good snuggle with any of them, and gets along with all of her fur friends. Goodie has some serious health issues that will require on-going care for the remainder of her life. She is high heartworm positive and the damage is so extensive that she's starting to show some signs of heart failure. Goodie also has a heart murmur and suffers from what we think at this point are epileptic seizures. We've been working with the vet to regulate her medications to help manage her heart and to also prevent her seizures, but Goodie will likely need to receive several medications everyday for the rest of her life. We estimate Goodie to be about 8 years old. She has her issues, but more than anything she has lots of love to give. If you think you can provide this amazing, sweet and spunky girl her very special forever home, submit your application today! PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. PIease Read Before Adopting a Cairn in Texas
Cairn Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Cairn Terrier is a shaggy, spunky little dog with tons of energy and personality. The indefatigable Cairn is full of energy and is very lovable. Cairns love to dig, chase, and bark. Cairns are very active and need plenty of exercise but adapt well to apartment life. Cairns like to do tricks and are very trainable. Cairns are wonderful with children. A Cairn can be very territorial and should be watched for a tendency to take on much larger dogs if it feels threatened.
