Meet Daisy our Cairn Terrier mix. She came to us scared and shut down after her owners passed away suddenly. When she trusts you she is very loving. She will take control of a situation so we are looking for a strong, confident handler to work with her. With some structure and guidance from our Rescue Team and the trainer at FHTA, we are sure we get her transitioned into a home. We have had great success with other little dogs that have needed a little work to fit into homes. We will work with a foster home that is close to our adoption centers in St John, In or Frankfort, IL. To meet her fill out the online application found at ... (Read More)www.alsiptotherescue.org. Alsip To The Rescue (ATTR) strives as a rescue to make sure that when our adopters take home their new rescue they feel they have the support and access to all resources which ATTR can provide. If you want to learn how you can set your new rescue up to succeed and blend in with your family come to our Meet The Trainer sessions each weekend. We will give you tips on what to do when you first bring home a new rescue. Fill out an application in the Get Involved section to meet our rescues. www.alsiptotherescue.org! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Cairn in Indiana
Cairn Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Cairn Terrier is a shaggy, spunky little dog with tons of energy and personality. The indefatigable Cairn is full of energy and is very lovable. Cairns love to dig, chase, and bark. Cairns are very active and need plenty of exercise but adapt well to apartment life. Cairns like to do tricks and are very trainable. Cairns are wonderful with children. A Cairn can be very territorial and should be watched for a tendency to take on much larger dogs if it feels threatened.
