|Rescue Me ID: 14-09-15-00442Dobson (male)|
Dobson is roughly 6 years old and was adopted in AZ in 2010. He currently lives in Mulberry, IN with a 79 year old retired couple who have some health issues that make it difficult for them to care for Dobson. He is loved and spoiled but rehoming him into a more active environment is best as he needs activity and stimulation. Dobson has separation anxiety issues and needs to be with his people. He is also fearful of storms. Dobson is protective of females but likes men too. He needs a moment or two to warm up to anyone. He has lived with cats for the last 4 years and seems to get along with them just fine and was best buddies with a male cat named Marty and they slept together in the same bed. Dobson walks well on a leash and loves to ride in the car. Ask him if he wants to put his shoes on and he goes crazy knowing he is going somewhere. He needs to be in a home with a work at home individual or a retired individual who can be more active with him. He will not do well with someone who has to leave him alone for extended periods of time. He is a cuddle bug and needs to be able to be in the same room with someone when sleeping. He also, likes to herd his people meaning he likes for everyone to be in the same room with him otherwise he worries. (Less)

Cairn Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Cairn Terrier is a shaggy, spunky little dog with tons of energy and personality. The indefatigable Cairn is full of energy and is very lovable. Cairns love to dig, chase, and bark. Cairns are very active and need plenty of exercise but adapt well to apartment life. Cairns like to do tricks and are very trainable. Cairns are wonderful with children. A Cairn can be very territorial and should be watched for a tendency to take on much larger dogs if it feels threatened.
