Meet Annie! Cairn Terrier/Corgi/Schnauzer??? Mix 5 yrs old 23 lbs. Annie is a very loving and sweet girl who loves to snuggle up with her favorite people. Annie has short little legs and a round body. She has wiry/scruffy hair. She has been through some traumatic experiences in her life and is now in a foster home where she is learning that things are ok now. Annie is being fostered with 5 small female dogs and does well with them under supervision. Annie is vocal when she plays and greets other dogs. It can sound mean, but her foster mom believes she is just 'talking'. Annie responds very well to corrections. Annie LOVES to play with ... (Read More)Kong Wubbas and especially enjoys playing tug. During play time, Annie is very vocal and does make a lot of growling noises, but it is purely play. This may frighten young children though and so Annie may be best in a home with older children. Annie is housebroken and loves to go for walks. She walks well on her harness and leash and enjoys the outdoors. She will make someone a great walking partner! Annie is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night. Annie has been through professional training, locally at Woof Beach. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments.     Cairn Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Cairn Terrier is a shaggy, spunky little dog with tons of energy and personality. The indefatigable Cairn is full of energy and is very lovable. Cairns love to dig, chase, and bark. Cairns are very active and need plenty of exercise but adapt well to apartment life. Cairns like to do tricks and are very trainable. Cairns are wonderful with children. A Cairn can be very territorial and should be watched for a tendency to take on much larger dogs if it feels threatened.
