Rescue Me ID: 14-08-12-00027Roxy (female)
Little Roxy was given up by her owner to Animal Control. We believe she was born towards the beginning of July. She will not be officially available for adoption until the beginning of September when she will turn 8 weeks old. In the meantime, we would be open to a foster-to-adopt situation until she is old enough. She is an adorable little puppy that will make a lucky family very happy. She has the cutest 'grumpy dog' underbite ever! Due to her small size we are looking to place her in a family without young children. Roxy's adoption fee of $300 goes towards her vet care. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the "Adoption Process" tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested ( as appropriate), fecal tested, and microchipped. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-28-00058Abby Courtesy Post (female)
This is Abby! She is a terrier mix of some kind, we chose the two that she resembled most. Abby weighs around 40lbs. Abby is very smart and often mischievous! She is a headstrong dog and needs a strong pack leader. She needs a fenced yard as she likes to bolt out of open doors! She also needs lots of exercise. Abby is protective of her home, barking at newcomers and other dogs. She harasses the cats in her foster home but they are able to live in the same household. Abby is a clown and she is very vocal with growly sounds when spoken to. If you are interested in adopting Abby, please call Paula at 618-559-8016.

Rescue Me ID: 13-08-20-00234Dora (female)
Dora is a very beautiful, smart and opinionated, three-year-old, female Cairn Terrier looking for a loving guardian. Poor Dora was dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control when her family no longer wanted her. We don't know how she was raised or what she went through, but she needs a very special, patient, understanding and dog-experienced family. She is an utterly adorable, independent little girl, who enjoys playing with her toys and receiving attention - on her own terms. Dora knows how to sit on command and if you pull out a treat her tail wags happily. She takes treats nicely from your fingers. Wherever she came from, she was not accustomed to being touched and handled. She is affectionate with the people that she knows and loves. But, there are certain places that even those that she loves cannot touch her ... like her back end. And, she does not like to be picked up from the ground, however she'll jump right in your lap and you can pick her up from there. So, she is quirky but not completely un-manageable. Dora has a few dog friends that are about her size or smaller, but she is afraid of larger dogs. So, she's looking for a home as the only dog or with another compatible small dog. Dora is very healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. To meet and possibly adopt Dora, please fill in the on-line adoption application at http://famousfidorescue.com/rescueforms/machform/view.php?id=26727 and follow up by contacting Gloria at email@example.com or 773-907-0305. Her adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido's. Dora is staying at rescue headquarters at 5430 N. Clark Street in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. Cairn Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Cairn Terrier is a shaggy, spunky little dog with tons of energy and personality. The indefatigable Cairn is full of energy and is very lovable. Cairns love to dig, chase, and bark. Cairns are very active and need plenty of exercise but adapt well to apartment life. Cairns like to do tricks and are very trainable. Cairns are wonderful with children. A Cairn can be very territorial and should be watched for a tendency to take on much larger dogs if it feels threatened.
