Rescue Me ID: 17-10-18-00152Bailey (male)

Cairn Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bailey is an energetic dog - so friendly and loving - when groomed he looks like a lion (but he is not fond of groomers) he lets me trim him with scissors. He loves toys and dirty socks and gathers all of them for himself. He loves playing with his buddy Smokie (a Westie Poodle) who is also available. Bailey loves to go on walks and pulls the leash to go faster. He can sit, stay and will come on command. He knows when going outside the command 'pee' - but sometimes has accidents in the house and needs a little training in that area with someone who has time.

Everyone say hello to Pebbles. Just look at this adorable girl and her very special ears. Isn't she just precious? She was pulled from Miami for us by our friends from Just Jacks Rescue, Ellis and Carolyn. Pebbles was listed as a westie mix, but after getting her, it's obvious she is more of a cairn terrier mix than a westie mix. She is a real sweetie who just loves people and really likes to get and give loving. She is a young 2/3 years old, spayed and up to date on her shots. She is very playful and her favorite thing is to play fetch with her squeaky ball. Pebbles really loves being with her human and would be good with other dogs or just ... Cairn Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

We do not adopt outside of the Tampa Bay area. If interested in Teak, please email: InquiryForNewHorizonDogRescue@gmail.com. PLEASE include your name and phone number and the foster parent will contact you directly. This is a proud service we offer. Since we are a volunteer-based organization, our first priority is rescuing dogs in danger, providing exemplary care for our existing dogs, please understand you will only be contacted within 48 hours if the match is suitable. We thank you. 9.3 lbs 3 yrs of age Crate Trained Microchipped Good with other dogs Teak was taken from a rescue organization that's closing its doors. He is ... (Read More)part of The Brighter Horizon Project. When he first saw our representative coming through the gate Teak ran up to her and would not leave her side. He jumped up on her lap and made it clear he was going with her. Since with us, Teak has proven his personality soars. He walks brilliantly on a leash. When it's time to pick up after Teak goes to the bathroom, he looks up and waits until it's picked up! Teak loves, loves, loves to splash in water. Teak is fine as long as he's not manually forced into his crate or be taken off of someone's lap. Gentle direction and he goes in willingly on his own. Confident. Funny. Affectionate and of course, adorable! TEAK WILL BE ADOPTED ONLY TO AN ADOPTER WHO UNDERSTANDS HE WILL REACT IF HE FEELS THREATENED. TEAK DOES BEST WITH ONE SINGLE PERSON HE FULLY TRUSTS. TEAK CAN BE A BRAT! Teak requires one mature person who is willing to correct his bratty behavior if it does surface. Thanks! We do not deprive our dogs out of the long and healthy life they deserve. Grain-free foods, only, are provided to our dogs. There is no reason to feed a dog the same manufactured food month after month. A new formula (different manufacturer) is what a dog needs biologically, otherwise a dog's system weakens. Mia is working on her leash training and in a car it is best if she is seat belted or in a crate as she will jump and could be distracting to a driver. Mia is working on her house training but she is a puppy and does have accidents sometimes. All puppies need consistent regular schedules to become successfully house trained. Mia is a lovely spunky little girl who needs a home who has the time to devote to her to help her become a happy healthy well developed adult. Are you going to be the lucky one to welcome her into your life? Apply to adopt Mia today! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Cairn in Florida
Cairn Dogs can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. The Cairn Terrier is a shaggy, spunky little dog with tons of energy and personality. The indefatigable Cairn is full of energy and is very lovable. Cairns love to dig, chase, and bark. Cairns are very active and need plenty of exercise but adapt well to apartment life. Cairns like to do tricks and are very trainable. Cairns are wonderful with children. A Cairn can be very territorial and should be watched for a tendency to take on much larger dogs if it feels threatened.
